What are the different types of cold coffee drinks called, and how easy is it to prepare them at home?
In hot weather, coffee drinkers prefer a coffee drink that is refreshing and toning.
That is why many people order iced coffee from coffee shops or want to make it at home.
To find out what types of cold coffee drinks exist and recreate the most popular ones in the kitchen, we have prepared this material for you.
What is the name of iced coffee: Cold brew

The most popular cold coffee that can be easily made at home is cold brew, that is, ground coffee beans are brewed using cold water.
This method is relatively new. It can be prepared using the Toddy method, which uses a special flask, or in a simple way, when you can use a conventional French press.
This method of brewing was invented because the usual way of creating cold coffee by cooling or adding ice to hot coffee spoils the taste of the drink. Cooled coffee loses its aroma, and coffee that has been added to ice will not be as dense.
The cold brewing method assumes that you fill the ground coffee beans with cold water and brew for 12-24 hours.
The advantages of this drink:
Low acid and oil content
High in caffeine, phenol and tannin, which tone up
This drink has a sweeter taste than regular espresso.
How to make cold brew at home

You'll need:
Ground coffee (above average ground, not too fine)
French press
* The proportions are 70 g of coffee per 1 liter of water (one teaspoon with a slide contains approximately 5-7 g of coffee)
Pour ground coffee into the French press.
Pour cold or home-temperature filtered water (unfiltered water can make the drink taste bad)
Refrigerate for 24 hours.
Ice can be added if you wish.
* After pouring a large amount of coffee at a temperature of 2-4 degrees Celsius, this drink can be stored for a couple of weeks, so you can safely brew it in the refrigerator and enjoy it when you you'll want to.
* If the storage temperature is higher, the drink will retain its freshness and aroma for up to three days.

But if you don't have time for it, some people have already done it for you. For one serving, 1-2 oranges are suitable, depending on how strong the orange flavor you want.
You can cut the orange into small or medium slices. You can also experiment with the size of oranges.

What is the difference between cold brew and iced coffee?

The two drinks are similar in appearance, but they are not the same thing. Ice coffee (iced coffee) is prepared like regular espresso, which then cools down and ice is simply added to it.
Simply put, this is the most common espresso or Americano that cools in the refrigerator. The whole process is relatively straightforward. By pouring hot water over the ground grains, you get a ready-made drink in 4 minutes. After that, it only needs to be cooled down.
Cold brew, on the other hand, is prepared without using heat. You fill the ground grains with already cold filtered water and leave them to brew for 12-24 hours. As a result, you get a drink that is softer and sweeter than regular coffee.
