The likelihood of a successful pregnancy in women who have been active for at least a year before undergoing treatment as part of so-called in vitro fertilization ( the technology of artificial insemination of an egg outside a woman's body) is much higher than that of their lazier products, researchers believe.

As part of a relevant study, scientists found that women who regularly did routine household chores often took long walks, or did some physical moderate exercise, the chance of getting pregnant was three times higher than that of those women who preferred to sit in the back all day long. It is known that 87 women who underwent in vitro fertilization took part in the study.

It is reported that the researchers studied the lifestyle that women led one year before starting appropriate treatment. Scientists gave women points based on how active they were every day. It is noteworthy that women did not have to work out in the gym every day, but it was enough to actively dust, vacuum, work in the garden, and so on.

Research leader Dr. Kathryn Calhoun from the University of Northern California at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, believes that physical activity prevents the body from producing too much insulin, which is believed to be harmful to egg development. Dr. Calhan believes that the results of her research once again emphasize the benefits of exercise and an active lifestyle in general for future pregnancies and solving problems with infertility.
