Easter baskets

So what do we need to create such a cute basket?

A pot or jar (for example, a seedling pot)

Twine (or knitting threads)

Glue gun

Felt

Cloth

Lace

Ribbons

wire

So let's get started.

Since most pots have uneven bottoms, we'll have to straighten them ourselves. We take two circles of brown cardboard, glue them outside and inside with a glue gun.

We measure the length of the lower edge, the upper edge and the height of the pot

using a tissue centimeter.

The resulting dimensions are marked on the fabric as shown in the photo above.

It turns out this trapezoid, which we cut not along lines, but one and a half centimeters larger, so that it is easier to fasten with glue later. If your jar is not trapezoidal, but cylindrical in shape, then you should get a rectangle.

We glue all the edges except the upper one so that the threads do not diverge

– our additional one and a half centimeters come in handy here.

Now we put the glue pencil inside the pot and begin to carefully and slowly glue it with a cloth, not forgetting to glue it from the outside.

Cut the edges so that the edges are the same length everywhere.

Glue a white circle of felt or other fabric inside.

Now let's transform the pot from the outside – we will glue it with twine, starting from the bottom, where we glue a piece of twine with a glue gun, then wrapping it in circles around the bottom, as shown in the photo above .

The twine creates the illusion of a wicker basket. After we glue the bottoms, we continue to glue the walls (it is not necessary to cut off the thread at all). We do not glue it all the way to the top – we need our fabric to remain visible.

It turns out this basket, but so far without a handle and ornaments.

Now we make a handle for the basket: we need a thick metal wire, on which we apply hot melt glue and wrap it with twine in a spiral.

Cut off the excess, fix the edges with glue and give the necessary shape to the handle.

Using our thermo-glue, we glue the handle to the basket.

After that, you can decorate the basket with lace

– glue it with hot melt glue, forming folds.

Glue a satin ribbon between the lace and the fabric and finish the decorative work with a bow.

In such a beautiful Easter basket, you can put artificial or fresh flowers, put Easter eggs, candy or chocolate.
