Motherhood is not only the joy of having a child, it is also a series of not always pleasant changes that await a woman who decides to become a mother.
Pregnancy changes it not only mentally but also physically. Unfortunately, more often than not, these changes are not for the better.

When a woman carries a child, her body changes dramatically. Of course, first of all, she gets better, her weight increases, and her metabolic rate increases dramatically.
As a result of the expansion of the uterus, pulse beats become more frequent, some internal organs experience additional stress and pressure from the fetus.
In addition, hormonal changes occur in the body. The level of hormones simply goes off scale, and a woman begins to experience their effects on her general condition, including sudden changes in mood.
Unfortunately, we must admit that in most cases, after the birth of a child, a woman does not look very attractive, to put it mildly. In any case, for sure at first.
Pregnancy changes a woman

Specialists associate pregnancy with premature aging of the female body.
And here is what Yulia, a 40-year-old mother of three, says about this: “I have three children. Makeup doesn't save much when you look bad. This is similar to trying to cover the cracks with a layer of plaster.
People around me think I'm over 50 years old, even though I'm barely 40 years old. I also have constant back pain. I breastfed all my children, which reduced my breast size from the third to the first. Sometimes I feel like all my energy has been sucked out of me.
And after I gave birth to my third child, I had a hormonal failure, so I will be taking hormonal medications for the rest of my life.
During these ten years, I have aged sharply. But my childless friends, on the other hand, look much younger than their age. They also have extra money to take care of themselves (because they don't spend it on children).”
There are many similar stories when a woman's appearance worsens after childbirth. Unfortunately, one thing is for sure: the female body begins to age intensively after childbirth.
So, a number of factors influence women's physiology during and after pregnancy. Here are the main points that a woman who decides to become a mom should be ready for:
1. Changes in hormonal levels

Changes in hormonal levels can lead to a sudden change in mood, a feeling of postpartum depression, the acquisition of extra pounds, as well as acne and a deterioration in skin quality.

2. Hair loss

Often after giving birth, a woman begins to observe that her hair begins to fall down sharply. She may face the fact that her hair is becoming less frequent. Hair may lose its original shine and volume.
This is also one of the unpleasant consequences of pregnancy.
3. Lack of exercise

While on maternity leave, a woman usually has little time for herself. After all, you need to do everything: take time for the child, cook, and clean. Where can you get more strength and energy for sports training or at least home exercise.
The result is a sagging body, signs of cellulite and a huge number of acquired complexes and a decrease in self-esteem in a woman.
4. Not enough time to take care of yourself like before

The eternal lack of time leads to the fact that a woman does not have time to do even the simplest cosmetic procedures – masks, peels.
Inadequate care for the face, hair, nails has a negative impact on the overall condition and appearance of a young mother.

5. Stretch marks

One of the most unpleasant “surprises” that a future mother is waiting for is a lot of stretch marks.
The arms and legs are affected by stretch marks, but the abdomen is especially affected. It looks like a wrinkled, saggy bag. Agree, this is not very attractive.
As a rule, women begin to become terribly complex because of this, which forces them to wear shapeless clothes that hide their hated belly, as well as one-piece swimsuits that you can hide behind overweight and a sagging tummy.
6. Lack of adequate rest

It is necessary to devote time to the child both day and night. Therefore, it is quite logical that mom often does not get enough sleep and does not get a good rest.
Due to regular lack of sleep, many women begin to develop bags under the eyes, wrinkles are clearly visible, and their faces look exhausted, tired. And all these signs, of course, make even a young woman old.
7. Breast augmentation and sagging

When breasts are enlarged during pregnancy, don't rush to rejoice. Breasts often grow during pregnancy and lactation, and then their size decreases sharply.
In this regard, stretch marks appear, the shape of the breast may change, and even worse, the chest will simply sag. And some women even faced the fact that the breasts become asymmetrical.
8. Tooth decay and brittle nails

Tooth decay and brittle nails are another significant disadvantage of pregnancy. During pregnancy, the body of many women is deficient in calcium. This, in turn, leads to tooth decay and brittle nails.
Even if a woman had good teeth before pregnancy, during pregnancy they simply begin to crumble and collapse. And what can we say about those girls who, even before pregnancy, could not boast of a healthy smile. Most likely, they will face a complete disaster.
Disadvantages of motherhood
The changes that take place in the female body are a necessary stage for the birth of a new life, without which it is impossible to have a child. However, for the woman herself, the consequences of pregnancy are very devastating.

In other words, the changes that take place in her body, as well as what happens after childbirth, make her mother older.
New genetic studies conducted recently in the United States prove that women who gave birth are much more aged at the cellular level than their nulliparous peers.
It should be added that almost 2,000 women aged 20 to 44 took part in the study.
“We were amazed by the results of the study. As it turned out, motherhood ages a woman by as much as 11 years. Having a child is like accelerating cellular aging over a span of about 11 years,” says epidemiologist Anna Pollack from George Mason University.

Scientists have taken into account and studied genetic markers, so-called telomeres. These end sections of chromosomes are known for their body's protective function.
By the length of the telomere, you can tell the age of a cell — the shorter its “tail”, the older the cell. So in areas with such telomeres, there was a tendency to wear out, and some cells simply died.
Premature signs of aging can also be influenced by other factors, such as overweight, bad habits, lack of adequate sleep, diabetes and, as the study found, also childbearing.
All this wears out the woman's body a lot. DNA testing confirmed that telomeres in women who gave birth were at least 4.2 percent shorter than those of nulliparous women. In addition, it turned out that the more children a woman has, the shorter the length of telomeres.
