Health
It would seem that it could be easier than making breakfast for yourself — take a couple of eggs, fry them with ham slices, eat it all with toast and pour plenty of sweet coffee. And we get a standard but not very healthy breakfast with a heaviness in the stomach. What do you think about making a vegetarian breakfast? This is where your imagination can unfold! It will not be much more difficult to prepare such breakfasts, but it will certainly be much more beneficial for your health and for the health of your loved ones.
Some people would love to switch to a healthy vegetarian breakfast, but they are afraid of the very sad long-term prospect they face for many years to come because of their lack of awareness — a plate of some lean dry breakfast, diluted with cold soy milk. Meanwhile, everything is not so sad, and if you know a few recipes, you can turn any breakfast into the most pleasant meal. We present to your attention some simple, but very tasty and nutritious recipes that will not only be a great alternative to a plate of cereal with cold milk, but will also make you really fall in love with morning meals. You may find some recipes too unusual due to the fact that the ingredients they use are not very popular in our culture, but don't forget that some things are worth trying for your own health. Moreover, they are now available and sold in almost any large (and not so) grocery store.
1. Oatmeal
If you thought about banal steamed oatmeal, then you're wrong. Or they were almost mistaken, because oatmeal is still present here. Try cooking it on a stove with almond milk. Add some flaxseed or coconut oil to thicken at the end of cooking, and then crumble finely chopped dates and apricots for sweetness. It's hard to imagine a more delicious and healthy porridge!
2. Sweet potato
No, of course, we are not talking about the well-known Potato cake, a pastry dish that is actually not healthy. We are talking about ordinary potatoes, which should be baked in the oven for an hour, or you can cook in a microwave oven – this will take just 10-15 minutes. Then mix the potatoes with a decent amount of almond oil, which is a great source of valuable protein. For spice, you can add some cinnamon and the sweet potatoes are ready.
3. Stuffed tofu
Tofu is soy curd that has a consistency similar to soft cheese but has no smell. Now you can find it in almost any store. Tofu perfectly absorbs the taste properties of the products with which it is combined. So add some tahini, a thick paste made from ground sesame seeds that is the basis for many sauces. It is also necessary to add sesame seeds and sunflower seeds directly. Believe me, you will be provided with vitamins for the whole day, and your taste will not be damaged — it's really delicious!
4. Granola
The basis of this healthy dish, popular in Israel, is good old oatmeal. Or rather oatmeal, or, as we say, muesli. Then the composition of the ingredients may change depending on your mood and imagination. You can add honey, raisins, almonds and dried fruits. It's a good idea to add some compote to the plate right before eating right along with the berries — the taste will be unforgettable!
5. Burrito
Burrito is a worthy answer to shawarma, which, as you know, is not complete without meat. Burrito, on the other hand, is a corn tortilla filled with roasted beans. You will be surprised, but since this dish is Mexican, it is originally served with hot guacamole sauce. But we are going to make a delicious and healthy breakfast, so it's best to exclude chili peppers from the sauce, leaving only avocados and tomatoes. As a filling, you can also add vegetables that have been left over from dinner. Wrap it all in a flatbread and a full healthy breakfast for one person is ready!
6. Quinoa pilaf
While burrito is a vegetarian answer to shawarma, quinoa pilaf is the same answer to meat pilaf. First, you should cook quinoa directly – grains with a delicate aroma, with a large amount of vegetable protein and other useful microelements. You can cook in water, or you can also cook in vegetable broth. Add some ground pecans to the boiling mixture (if not, walnuts can also be used, although pecans are much more tender in taste and consistency) and dried cranberries. Stir the dish thoroughly while cooking, and then cover the surface with grated orange peel for spice.
7. Cherry cocktail
Of course, you can wash down your breakfast with sweet coffee and tea, but if you follow the principles of a healthy diet to the end, there is nothing better than a cherry cocktail made by yourself. This is the best thing for summer time! Take 1 cup of frozen cherries and mix with one glass of water. Add half a tablespoon of coconut oil, one tablespoon of cocoa powder, 2 scoops of unsalted almonds, and some dates. Mix it all thoroughly in a blender and the cocktail will be ready! Refreshing, frothy and delicious!
8. Vegetarian pancakes
If we talk about pancakes for breakfast, it's clear that “healthy” pancakes cannot contain meat! So we can only talk about vegetarian pancakes. It's easy to prepare them. As a basis, you can take at least the recipe for your favorite pancakes with meat, if you sometimes make them. But instead of each egg, use one tablespoon of flaxseed and 2 tablespoons of water. Then add soy milk and some apple cider vinegar. Chop it all down, just like making buttermilk, which is usually obtained by whipping butter. You can also replace half a serving of plain flour with wholemeal flour. And then use wild berries and banana pieces as toppings. You will love it!
9. Fruit salad
Fruit salad is the perfect breakfast that will not only energize you, but also plunge you into a sweet and healthy life!
It is usually best cooked during the season when there are plenty of delicious fresh fruits. The ingredients can be anything, so the number of recipes is amazing.
For example, take strawberries, blueberries (or blueberries), raspberries and blackberries and mix with grated minadlam — lick your fingers!
10. Banana boat
And finally, another recipe is a dessert called “Banana Boat”, which, however, can act not only as a dessert, but also as a substitute for a full hearty breakfast. You can use one or two bananas to make it, depending on how hungry you feel early in the morning. Cut each banana into two longitudinal pieces and grease each piece generously with peanut butter. Place raisins on top of the butter and add a little bit of cinnamon agave nectar — this will be the most delicious breakfast you've ever tasted.
