Batumi Beach
Almost all Batumi beaches are pebbly, well-groomed and well-maintained. The largest and most popular is the municipal Batumi Beach, located right in the center of the city. A very diverse audience gathers here: families with children, teenagers, athletes, party—goers – everyone has company and classes to their liking. Fortunately, there is enough space: on a spacious strip 30-50 m wide, stretching for 7 km along the Black Sea, there are practically no crowds. Batumi Beach is equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay: toilets, showers, changing rooms, rental points of beach equipment, medical posts. It is located far from the highway, surrounded by sprawling palm trees and bike paths, so you should not be afraid of noise and dust. Cafes and restaurants stretch along the coast, the prices in which are almost the same as in the city, but intrusive food vendors are not allowed on the beach.
The coast is carefully cleaned: there is no garbage either on land or in the sea. The water is warm and surprisingly clear (in the area of the New Boulevard it is a little more muddy), the bottom is flat and safe — expanse for little bathers. Adherents of active recreation are pleased with water skiing, “bananas”, catamarans, parachutes, a water park and other entertainment. And for lovers of privacy, it is better to walk to the end of the embankment, to the Seaside Park: on large, sun-warmed stones, you can sunbathe in peace and tranquility.
In the evenings, Batumi Beach turns into one big dance floor: the best DJs of the world play in the clubs “Sector 26”, “Mandarin”, “Iveria” and other fashionable places.
Green Cape and Gonio
Green Cape is a picturesque beach away from the center, in the vicinity of the famous botanical garden. It is more convenient to get here by minibus from the Boni market, and then along the paved path to the left of the entrance to the garden. The beach is small, sparsely populated and very cozy, filled with the aromas of exotic flowers and beckoning with the purest emerald green water.
In summer, there is a shop, a restaurant, rental of umbrellas and sun loungers on the coast. You can also relax from the noise of the capital in the ancient village of Gonio, which is 15 km from Batumi. People come here to enjoy the charm of the Georgian village, listen to the silence, wander through the ruins of the ancient Gonio-Apsaros fortress, Roman baths, theater and hippodrome. And, of course, to soak up on the beach — not as developed as Batumi Beach, covered with rather large pebbles, but very beautiful and clean.
Sarpi
The resort village of Sarpi is divided in half by the state border, and if there is nothing much to do on the Turkish side, then there is a delightful pebble beach on the Georgian side. It is surrounded by majestic rocks, one of them rises directly above the sea — brave daredevils dive from it into the water, which, by the way, is recognized as the cleanest on the entire Georgian coast. The infrastructure in the village is developed: there are shops, cafes, ATMs, rental points (umbrellas and sunbeds for 3-5 GEL per day), several decent hotels and guest houses, but fans of noisy entertainment and a stormy nightlife will be boring.
