Unbelievable facts
Not only humans but also animals can take action when something annoys them.
According to BBC reports, the Australian crocodile Elvis (apparently named after the great artist) confiscated a lawnmower from park workers. Most likely, the device irritated the animal with the noise produced. Therefore, Elvis had no choice but to take such drastic measures.
The reptile, almost five meters long, emerged from the reservoir where it lives. At this time, park staff were cutting grass on the lawn using a lawnmower. The animal confidently and quickly approached the man and, snatching the device from his hands, went under water with him. According to eyewitnesses, everything happened so quickly that the worker who mowed the lawn did not even have time to come to his senses. The reptile dragged the device to the bottom of the reservoir. Workers who watched everything happen claim that for more than an hour the crocodile jealously guarded what it seized from people. Park staff tried to save the lawnmower. However, all efforts were in vain.
It is not known how this incident would have ended if it had not been time for lunch, and the animal was lured to the opposite side of the pool with the help of kangaroo meat. Taking advantage of the crocodile's focus on food, people managed to break into Elvis' home and seize the stolen device. When inspecting the lawnmower, damage to the device was found caused by a crocodile. However, at the same time, the animal itself was injured: during the theft of the lawnmower, the “thief” lost three teeth.
The following is known about the “kidnapper”: the reptile is about 50 years old. The animal has a quick-tempered and irritable character. The crocodile had to be caught more than once when it attacked fishing boats. Environmental officers were forced to transfer the rebel from his usual crocodile habitat in Darwin Bay to another place in order to isolate him from “society”.
Surprisingly, Elvis is hostile not only to humans, but also to women of the opposite sex. When he was younger, two female crocodiles were added to his pond, which Elvis killed instantly: he simply ate them. Experts explain Elvis' increased aggressiveness by an excess of testosterone. That is why he perceives even potential partners as a real threat and, obviously, adhering to the well-known truth that “the best defense is an attack”, this is exactly what he does.
