There was a man erectus, then he evolved into a reasonable man, and now it seems that a new species is emerging — man who prints. Moreover, a person who prints… text messages. In a recent study, British researchers found that teenagers this year send twice as many texts to different destinations as they did last year. For example, teenage girls can send more than 30 text messages (including text messages) per day!

As a result of a study conducted by specialists from one of the most popular Internet resources in Britain, it was found that teenagers send an average of 193 text messages per week, which is two times higher than last year. According to the survey, British girls aged 12 to 15 were indeed the most prolific at texting, sometimes sending 32 texts a day, or 221 per week. The guys have a similar figure of 23 messages per day.

It was found that about two-thirds of teenagers own their own smartphones, which allows them to surf the Internet regularly. Thus, the number of young smartphone owners increased by 41 percent in 2011. Meanwhile, about two-fifths of children aged 12 to 15 said that if they were forced to stop using their electronic gadgets, they would miss modern technologies. At the same time, one in five teenagers is most reluctant to part with the TV.

This study, which was aimed at identifying the degree of influence of technology on the life of a modern teenager, also demonstrated the fact that younger children also began to spend more time online. A third of preschool children (four or even three years old) also appear to use the Internet at home, either from a personal computer or from a laptop or tablet. About half of students under the age of 15 who have access to the Internet have their own social media profiles (despite the fact that, for example, Facebook bans profiles users who are not yet 13 years old).
