According to the Spanish newspaper La Razón, 48-year-old Eduardo Ruiz, returning from places not so remote where he was serving a ten-year sentence, found his wife's mummified corpse. The man was shocked by what he saw, because all this time he believed that not hearing from his wife for a long time was nothing more than her unwillingness to communicate with him. Because of this, the prisoner was upset and decided to “dot the I's” in his relationship with his wife.
According to the man, he was absolutely sure that his wife was alive and well and simply refused to communicate with him, because he was offended by him because he left her alone because of his own stupidity and carelessness in jail.
When he returned home, he found his wife's body. The woman probably died several years ago. Her body had turned into a mummy, so the man first mistook her for a doll. Ruiz immediately called the police. Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene stated that the death occurred two years ago. The examination showed that there were no signs of violence on the body, which led to the conclusion that Mrs. Ruiz died of her own death. According to neighbors, the woman became depressed because her husband was in prison, and it is also known that the unfortunate woman was regularly malnourished. It is likely that the woman died from “depression and hunger”.
It is known that Ruiz previously appealed to the Ministry of Law Enforcement with a request to find his wife. However, the police decided not to visit the apartment of the Ruiz couple, arguing that the woman has every right to ignore the “bad” husband and not communicate with him because he is serving a prison sentence sentence for a serious crime.
Despite the fact that the cause of the woman's death is quite clear, law enforcement officers decided to double-check all possible options for her death.
