Given that our body is made up of 60 per cent water, it is in our best interest to refill our water supplies daily, but not just with cold water.
Research has shown that warm water has many benefits for our body.
What kind of water should I drink: cold water or warm water?

Before we talk about the benefits of warm water (26-49°C), it's worth mentioning how harmful cold water (7-21°C) can be.
According to a study by the European Journal of Pharmaceutical and Medical Research, this is what happens in our body when we drink cold water:
A person's natural body temperature is 36-37°C. When you drink something very cold, your body begins to work hard to regulate your body temperature instead of turn food into energy.
The blood vessels constrict and digestion slows down.
The body produces excess mucus and increases the likelihood of colds.
Fats from food harden and you have a harder time digesting them.
The benefits of warm water
Eastern culture has been drinking warm water for centuries. According to traditional Chinese and Hindu medicine, warm water is healthy and has a variety of benefits for our body.
1. Improves metabolism

Warm or hot water supports a healthy metabolism and metabolic rate.
Ideally, you should start your day with a glass of warm lemon water to kickstart your metabolism right in the morning.

2. Improves digestion

The best way to remove all toxins from your body is to drink a glass of warm water regularly. Water at this temperature breaks down food and fats much faster, facilitating the digestive process. At the same time, it is best to drink warm water after eating.
3. Cleans the blood

According to Ayurveda, water is best stored in a copper vessel. Copper is believed to help purify the blood and kill harmful bacteria. In the morning, to start the cleansing process, drink warm water from copper dishes.
If you do not have a copper mug, do not worry, as some experts believe that this mineral does not have a significant effect on the body.
4. Combats excess weight and high cholesterol

Warm lemon water is especially useful for those who suffer from diabetes. This water regulates weight and blood sugar levels. It also helps to get rid of plaques in the arteries and improves blood circulation.
In addition to lemon water, drink warm or hot tea between meals, preferably after you have digested your food.
5. Relieves constipation

Bloating that occurs due to constipation may be due to dehydration. Remind yourself to drink warm water more often during the day to stimulate bowel movements. To relieve constipation, drink warm water on an empty stomach.
6. Reduces mucus buildup

In one study, researchers looked at the effects of hot water, cold water, and chicken soup on mucus buildup. They found that those who drank hot water reduced the amount of mucus in their nose, throat, and gastrointestinal tract.
This suggests that water at a higher temperature reduces the risk that you will catch the virus. It also helps to remove mucus, preventing bacteria from remaining and multiplying.
7. Improves mood

A study published in the journal Science found that warm drinks improve mood. The thing is that our brain perceives heat with positive emotions, and this affects our judgment about others.
For example, during the experiment, people who held a warm coffee drink while talking to a stranger considered it friendlier than those who kept iced coffee.
The pleasant sensation of a warm drink helps us perceive others as more pleasant people.
8. Slows down the aging process

Regular disposal of toxins and metabolic products slows down the aging process. In addition, warm water helps restore skin cells, making your skin softer and smoother.
