Do you want to quit smoking? Eat a carrot or apple or any other fruit or vegetable. A recent study found that smokers who ate the most fruits and vegetables were three times more likely to quit smoking than those who ate less healthy.

A study of 1,000 smokers also found that those who ate vegetables and fruits smoked fewer cigarettes a day, waited longer before smoking their first cigarette, and suffered less from nicotine addiction.

These results were confirmed even when scientists took into account factors such as age, gender, nationality, education level, income, physical activity, excessive alcohol consumption, and drugs that influence success in the fight against smoking.

During the study, researchers interviewed participants who smoked and then contacted them 14 months later to see if they had abstained from smoking in the past month. All participants smoked at least 100 cigarettes at the start of the study, smoked daily, and on the days when the study began.

There are several explanations for the results of the study. Those who eat lots of fruits and vegetables are less dependent on nicotine or have less desire to smoke. Fruits and vegetables are also rich in fiber, which gives you a feeling of satiety and therefore less need to smoke. It is known that smokers sometimes confuse hunger with the desire to smoke.

In addition, unlike other products that enhance the taste of tobacco, such as meat, drinks that contain caffeine and alcohol, fruits and vegetables make cigarettes taste worse.

Probably there is no person who does not know about the dangers of smoking. Scientists have repeatedly tried to talk about how harmful this habit is, linking it to numerous health problems. However, millions of people around the world continue to smoke, believing that the effects are greatly exaggerated.

Perhaps a healthy diet can help many smokers quit this habit. Recent studies have shown that nicotine patches and nicotine gum are not always effective in combating smoking.
