Hwange National Park, located in the western part of Zimbabwe near the Kalahari Desert, is one of the largest wildlife reserves, which attracts not only wildlife lovers, avid ornithologists and florists from all over the world, but also those who just want to take a break from noisy megacities, changing the “music” of expressways to birdsong, lion roar and the trampling of herds of antelopes, buffaloes and elephants. On the territory of Hwange Park, opened more than a hundred years ago, there are extensive meadows, wells with ground water, acacia bushes and, of course, a large number of animals.

Hospitable inhabitants of the reserve
Hwange is one of the richest parks in South Africa, it is home to more than a hundred species of animals. By visiting this reserve, you will be able to see giraffes, elephants, monkeys, lions, zebras and other animals (and those who, after watching during the tour, will lag behind the guide, can also run away from representatives of such a vast fauna). The territory of this park is home to one of the largest populations of the giant African elephant on the African continent, the largest population of wild dogs that have survived in Africa, thousands of giraffes, zebras, kudus, unique antelopes-sitatunga and saber-horned antelopes. Here you will have unforgettable encounters with lions, rhinos, chamois and hyenas, both for you and for the animals themselves.

This place is just a paradise for ornithologists, as it is possible to observe several hundred different species of birds. Some of these species are not found anywhere else except in Hwang.
Not only the fauna, but also the flora of the reserve is unique and diverse — thousands of flowers, trees and shrubs decorate the park with their aromas and colors.

Excursions
The park is located south of the famous Victoria Falls — a convenient location for various sightseeing programs. A variety of safaris are in particular demand. You can take both a walking trip and a jeep ride in the park. Don’t forget to grab your camera, because here you can get excellent pictures. Here you can stay overnight — in a camp, a chalet or a hotel. Having settled in one of the private reserves near a small pond, you can watch at night how the animals living in the park come to drink.

The park borders the Kalahari Desert, which leads to sudden temperature changes, so grab warm clothes for the early morning and night.
Hwange has been the hunting grounds of the royal family for a long time, and therefore during the day you can hunt those you were looking for at night. Unlike the royal family, this pleasure will be paid for you (from 380 USD), but it will bring so many impressions and emotions that next time not only you, but also many of your friends will come here.
In addition to African prairies and savannas, tourists are happy to visit nearby local villages to enjoy communication with aborigines, listen to African music, participate in dances, get acquainted with national life and color, buy handmade souvenirs. Such outings are best done in the company of a guide-guide.
