Unbelievable facts
It used to be possible only in the imagination to add another 100 years to our lives, but scientists are working to make it a reality.
A drug in the form of a pill can extend our life cycle by “removing” cells that contribute to aging.
Human aging is accelerated by so-called “zombie cells” or aging cells. These cells stop dividing, collect in our body and, from time to time, release substances that accelerate our aging.
The substance was tested in 2020 on mice and as a result improved their physical performance, strengthened the immune system and extended their lifespan. At the moment, scientists are working to ensure that the drug can be used by humans.

British computational biologist Dr. Andrew Steele, in his book on human life expectancy, argues that when using a certain type of drug it is quite possible to live for more than 100 years.
In the book, he argues that research in the field of senolytics – drugs aimed at destroying cells that destroy tissue functions – is already showing promising results and can appear on the market within the next decade.
“I don't think there's a definite limit to how long we can live,” says Dr. Steele. “There's no physical or biologically explainable reason why people can't live to be 200, we have before us The only task is to develop biomedicine to such a level that makes it possible.”
“Studies come out every year, assuming different life time limits, but we've only just begun to focus on treating the aging process.”
A certain number of people are already taking part in the trial, and it may well be available for purchase within 10 years.
However, even if science is successful, the question remains: what will people do for the additional 100 years of their lives?
