What would we do without American scientists? Who else but these tireless science workers will tell us how to eat a sandwich correctly, where to spread toothpaste, and on which side it is better to celebrate the dawn?

However, at first glance, the research discussed in this article does not look as useless as the vast majority of other discoveries on the Internet. The fact is that Americans have proposed a new effective (from their point of view) way to quit smoking.

The easiest way to quit smoking is to rinse your mouth with lemonade

Indeed, according to research by smart people at Georgia State University, this drink, so familiar to most of us from early childhood, will be the one the most panacea that will save the planet from nicotine poison.

However, scientists themselves are much more restrained, making it clear that lemonade helps to kill the desire to drag on only for a while. Moreover, you don't need to drink it for this — they just need to rinse their mouths!

It turns out that as the starting point of their study, American scientists took the property of sugar to improve human functional abilities related to attention and cognitive activity. And it is glucose (that is, sugar), which is known to be found in lemonade, that acts on the receptors of our language in such a way that not only improves attention, but also allows us to slightly increase self-control. Allegedly, thanks to this reaction of the body, a person has a kind of support for his willpower.

An obvious question arises: why rinse your mouth with lemonade? Why can't you, for example, rinse your mouth with cola, or, say, just water and sugar dissolved in it? The fact is that scientists from Georgia conducted an appropriate experiment, in which they asked 51 students to solve certain tests for attentiveness and self-control, Rinse your mouth first with lemonade and then with other drinks containing artificial sweetener.

As you may have guessed, it was the students who rinsed their mouths with lemonade that showed higher self-control and attentiveness. Obviously, it is assumed that lemonade, which needs to be rinsed, contains only natural glucose, so Buratino can hardly be considered a smoking remedy. But the juice of freshly squeezed lemons, diluted with water, is the right thing. Perhaps the method will really find its admirers, but it is very similar to an attempt by scientists to justify the cost of another not very useful study.
