Incredible facts

Do you have a regular partner but feel like you rarely have sex? Maybe it's time to change your bed linen and repaint the bedroom walls. A study by Littlewoods.com found that lingerie (both color and material) and bedroom wall color influence how often you have sex.

For example, a survey of about 2,000 people showed that owners of purple and red linen and walls have sex most often (3.49 and 3.18 times a week respectively). Those who are surrounded by blue color have sex a little less often — 3.14 times a week. Pink lovers indulge in carnal pleasures on average 3.02 times a week, but black reduces the frequency of sexual intercourse to 2.99 times a week.

This is followed by blue — those who predominate in their bedroom make love about 2.76 times a week. Couples who spend the night in the yellow bedroom have sex 2.43 times a week. For orange bedrooms this figure is 2.36, for brown bedrooms it is 2.10. Couples are even less likely to have sex in white bedrooms, with an average frequency of about 2.02 times a week. The most “asexual” colors for the bedroom are gray, green and beige. Couples sleeping on grey underwear or in a predominantly grey bedroom have sex only 1.8 times a week. For green, this figure is 1.89, and for beige it is 1.97.

It should be borne in mind that not only the color, but also the material of the linen is of great importance. The best material for those who want to have sex more often is silk. It turned out that owners of silk underwear indulge in carnal pleasures about 4.35 times a week. But cotton underwear seems to be “cooling”, as people wear this underwear about 2.72 times a week. The situation is even worse for owners of nylon underwear – they have sex no more than 2.35 times a week.

I must say that the experts have obtained very expected results.

“For years, I've been announcing to Britons that a beige bedroom makes a couple's sex life beige — that is, dim. And I don't want that to anyone,” says Laurence Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Littlewoods.com interior designer.

I wonder what has a greater impact: color or material? Let's say a couple spends their nights in a beige bedroom (one of the most “non-sexy” colors), but on sheets made of silk (the sexiest material). What would their sex life be like? Unfortunately, experts did not answer this question.

The linen and the color of the walls in the bedroom affect the frequency of having sex
