The main attraction of Kenya is national parks and nature reserves. There are about 60 of them in the country, and they occupy about 7.5% of the territory. Perhaps the most famous are “Tsavo”, “Sibilon”, “Mount Kenya”, “Masai Mara”, “Aberdare”, Mount Elgon, “Samburu”, “Amboseli”. Almost all representatives of African flora and fauna can be found here in the natural environment, and comfortable bungalows and lodges are built for tourists, safaris are regularly held.
For example, the Tsavo National Park is located halfway between Nairobi and Mombasa, occupies about 20 thousand square kilometers, and its borders are symbolically marked by flows of frozen lava. It is famous for the Ngulia Canyon, the Yatta Plateau, the Mzima springs, the Tsavo River, on the banks of which you can see almost all the most important representatives of the animal world of East Africa at once.
The Masai Mara National Park, 275 km west of Nairobi, is located at an altitude of 1,650 m above sea level and borders the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. Almost all animals inhabiting East Africa are found here, including a population of unique black lions.
Amboseli National Reserve is located at the foot of Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. It is believed that this is the place where you can get the most classical idea of Africa. Representatives of the “magnificent five” animals of Africa are protected here: leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros, elephant and lion.
