Heidelberg Castle
No matter how grand the ruins of Heidelberg Castle are in German guidebooks: romantic, legendary, and famous. In fact, the castle has not needed additional sacralization for a long time, tourist crowds are already attracted here by a magnet.
Altenburg Castle in Bamberg
Altenburg Castle was built on the highest of the seven hills of Bamberg, above the city, and it happened in 1109 (at least the first mention of the castle dates back to this year, although it very much looks like it was built over an earlier fortress).

The Old Castle in Stuttgart
The old castle was founded in Stuttgart in the 5th century. After a few centuries, it lost its status and turned into an ordinary stable. After that, it turned back into a beautiful structure with perfect towers. The castle became the residence of the counts and dukes of Württemberg.
