A trip to Italy is not only to the sea, but sometimes even the most notorious lover of wandering around museums really wants to lie on the beach. We know exactly where you will want to go in the summer.

Rimini, Emilia-Romagna region
One of the largest and most popular resort towns of the Adriatic coast – Rimini – is suitable for almost everyone who dreams of a leisurely beach holiday in the Italian spirit. Rimini has everything: historical heritage, reminiscent of the period of the Roman Empire, restaurants that preserve the gastronomic traditions of the area, shady parks, flea markets with vintage gizmos, an ancient port with a lighthouse and ships at the pier, nightclubs and children’s entertainment areas, huge shopping malls and, of course, the main attraction of the city – 15 kilometers the cleanest beaches that are washed by the calm Adriatic Sea.

Sanremo, region Liguria
Sanremo is the fourth largest city in the Liguria region, just a stone’s throw from the French Cote d’Azur. Expensive hotels are side by side with more democratic hotels like B&B, but in general, a beach holiday in Liguria is slightly more expensive than on the Adriatic coast. The terrain in Sanremo is quite hilly, everything is planted with palm trees, and a 24-kilometer bike path stretches through the whole city. By the way, it is considered the longest in Europe. Sanremo is called the “city of flowers” – all because of the love of local residents for growing carnations of various shades. And one of the main points of attraction in the city remains the impressive Casino Sanremo, which is not particularly inferior in grandeur to its neighbor from Monaco. In general, if you dream of a vacation with a touch of secular chic, you are in San Remo.

Viareggio, region of Tuscany
The capital of the resort area of Versilia, the town of Viareggio, is located on the Tuscan coast of the Ligurian Sea. The natural environment in the city is incredible: there is the sea, and many green hills, and a pine forest with bike paths, and, of course, palm trees.

The town is suitable for holidays for those who like everything to be at the highest level. It is here that the most expensive yachts in the world are produced, and locals and tourists know how to spend money with taste. Viareggio will also appeal to those who are looking for night coastal hangouts – there are plenty of cool nightclubs, many of which have already become quite famous. The city is also popular among surfers and fans of sailing. And of course shopping – there are many shops and malls in Viareggio where you can dress up in the latest Italian fashion.

Vieste, Apulia region
The hot, rocky and elevated Vieste was once a typical fishing commune in southeastern Italy. But the cleanest beaches and the incredible beauty of the area attracted visitors to the town to soak up the Italian sun. Modern Vieste is one of the best seaside towns in the Puglia region, which is famous for its beaches. There is absolutely no “luxury” raid, which is so characteristic of the Ligurian coast. Houses on high cliffs, simple food, a cozy old town with white walls and friendly locals – the town is perfect for democratic travelers who go for the sea and authentic atmosphere, and not for increased comfort and bohemia.

San Vito Lo Capo, Island of Sicily
In a small commune in the province of Trapani in Sicily, there is one of the best beaches not only on the island, but in all of Italy. The sea here is so azure that the views look more like wallpaper than reality. The town with incredible nature also has cultural monuments and pleases the eye of lovers of antiquity with traditional buildings with miniature fishermen’s houses. San Vito Lo Capo is suitable for travelers who want to visit the paradise island, while not leaving the borders of Europe. It will be comfortable for unassuming young backpackers, families with children, and even elderly travelers.

Cagliari, Sardinia Island
Ancient Cagliari is the administrative center of the island of Sardinia. The city with a centuries-old history will appeal to curious travelers who want to lie on the beach and see the sights. Cagliari is not a fishing village, but an impressive city with its own university, museums, airport and developed infrastructure. There is a large historical center with medieval buildings, which will take more than one day to study, a nature reserve, a port, many cafes and entertainment. And, of course, beaches – with soft fine sand and smooth entry into the water.
