On the territory of the reserve there are caves, turquoise ponds and forests where you can meet wild animals and rare birds. The picturesque landscapes stretch for almost 30 hectares, but most of all the lakes and the cascade of waterfalls fascinate. Due to the natural features of the place, new thresholds appear here every year, and the views are constantly being transformed.
The Plitvice Lakes Park is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. And if you are planning a vacation in Croatia, do not forget to look into this paradise. By the way, swimming in reservoirs is prohibited: there have been enough accidents. But you can walk along the wooden paths along the lakes and go boating.
How to get. You can get from Zagreb, Zadar or Split by regular buses, some routes involve transfers. You can get from anywhere in the country by car on your own, and in large and tourist cities — take an excursion.
When to arrive. The park welcomes visitors all year round and is beautiful in any season. However, in winter, only one entrance to the reserve is open, and part of the territory is inaccessible.
