In pursuit of a slim and fit body, we forget that many diets (especially strict and involving the use of one specific product that contributes to weight loss) deprive us of ours the body of vitamins and other beneficial elements.

According to statistics, more than 1 billion people on our planet are deficient in vitamin D, which can lead to bone fragility and impaired immune function. Chronic vitamin A deficiency can even be fatal.

Vitamin deficiency is a serious problem that should be addressed immediately!

It is possible to identify which vitamins the body lacks by taking tests for vitamins. But, unfortunately, the rapid pace of modern life does not always allow us to find several hours to visit the clinic.

What should I do in this case? We suggest that you carefully look at your reflection in the mirror, because our face can tell you a lot about the state of the body as a whole!

1. Eye swelling

If you see your swollen eyelids in the mirror for a long time in the morning, this may indicate a lack of iodine in the body.

Do not ignore this sign, as iodine deficiency can lead to thyroid dysfunction, nodule formation and thyroid cancer.

To compensate for the lack of iodine in the body, it is enough to include the following foods in the diet:

iodized salt,

seafood,

milk,

kefir,

yoghurt,

eggs,

seaweed,

cranberries,

tomatoes,

beans,

strawberries.

2. Pale skin

Excessive pale skin is a sign of vitamin B12 deficiency (especially against the background of exhaustion, fatigue, constant fatigue and mood swings).

Chronic deficiency of this vitamin can lead to a slowdown in metabolism, dementia, paralysis and disorders in the nervous system.

Vitamin B12 is found in large quantities in red meat, liver, fatty fish (trout, salmon, herring), and seafood.

3. Dry skin

Dry and scaly skin signals a lack of vitamins A and C, which maintain the skin's water-salt balance.

Vitamin A is responsible for the growth of new healthy epidermal cells that can resist external negative factors.

Vitamin C synthesizes collagen, which not only ensures the beauty and health of the skin, nails and hair, but also promotes the regeneration of connective tissue.

The sources of vitamin A are:

fish oil, cod

liver,

eel,

beef liver, red and black

caviar,

eggs,

butter, red

mountain ash,

carrots,

dried apricots,

leafy greens,

rosehips.

Vitamin C is rich in:

rose hips,

sea buckthorn,

bell peppers,

currants,

citrus fruits, dried white

mushrooms,

leafy greens,

cabbage of various varieties,

strawberries.

4. Oily skin

The skin acquires an oily sheen and “shines” when B vitamins (especially vitamin B2) are deficient, which reduce excess sebum.

Vitamin B2 is found in dried white mushrooms, beef liver and kidneys, milk, high-fat cream, eggs (especially quail), and almonds.

5. Acne

Acne, comedones and inflammations with pus can be due to vitamin A and zinc deficiency (the latter is involved in cell division and cell replacement).

The following products will help maintain proper levels of zinc in the blood:

wheat bran,

pine nuts,

peanuts, sunflower

seeds,

cheeses,

chicken yolk.

An interesting fact! Acne on the face, namely its localization, may indirectly indicate certain malfunctions in the body.

Rashes in the upper part of the forehead indicate intestinal problems. To eliminate the problem, enrich your diet with antioxidants such as green tea, strawberries, blueberries, lemon water.

Rashes in the lower part of the forehead indicate impaired functioning of the nervous system, which can be caused by irregular sleep, stress, depression, and impaired blood circulation. Good sleep, a warm shower, meditation and aromatherapy before going to bed will help relieve nervous tension.

Rashes on the nose are a sign of heart problems due to high blood pressure and stress. Relax in the fresh air, go shopping, and focus on your hobby.

Rashes on the eyebrows signal that the liver is unable to cope with its tasks, which can be caused by alcohol and high-fat foods. Review your lifestyle and diet to relieve your liver.

Rashes on the right cheek are often observed in smokers and allergy sufferers and indicate a pathology of the respiratory system. Avoid allergens, stop smoking, both active and passive, to minimize negative effects on the lungs.

Rashes around the lips and in the central part of the chin may indicate problems with the stomach and small intestine. And fast food and prolonged constipation are often to blame. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits that are high in fiber, such as carrots, broccoli, grapes, apples, bran bread, celery.

Rashes on the sides of the chin are a signal of kidney congestion and a malfunction in the reproductive system. Eliminate stress, avoid strict diets, and reduce sodium and caffeine intake to cleanse the kidneys and normalize the menstrual cycle.

6. Wrinkles

The appearance of wrinkles as the body ages is a normal physiological process. But if wrinkles appear in large numbers in a short period of time, this may indicate that your body lacks vitamin E, which is responsible for skin tone, firmness and elasticity.

They will compensate for vitamin E deficiency:

vegetable oils (olive, sunflower), sunflower

seeds,

nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, peanuts),

wheat bran, cod

liver,

sea buckthorn,

eel.

7. Pale lips

Pale lips and frequent cracks in the corners of your mouth clearly indicate that you are deficient in iron. In addition, the lack of this microelement has a negative effect on the functioning of the immune system, which increases the risk of colds and lowers blood pressure.

The following will help to eliminate iron deficiency:

cocoa powder,

red meat,

cereals,

sesame seeds,

soybeans,

seaweed,

wheat bran,

leafy greens.

8. Gum bleeding

If, after using dental floss, the gums bleed a little, and this happens irregularly, then there is nothing wrong with that.

If gum bleeding occurs every time you brush your teeth, this may be a sign of vitamin C deficiency (especially when combined with muscle pain and poor wound healing).

By including foods enriched with this vitamin in your diet, you will reduce the sensitivity of your gums and teeth, and generally strengthen your immune system.

9. Dry and brittle hair

Using all kinds of hair styling products, coloring them, drying with a hair dryer, straightening and curling lead to hair becoming dry, brittle and dull, and dandruff appears.

If the exclusion of all of the above factors does not have a positive effect on the appearance of the hair, this may indicate a deficiency of vitamin B7 (biotin).

This vitamin is found in the following foods:

beef and pork liver, chicken

meat,

dairy products,

egg yolk,

almonds,

nuts,

legumes,

soy,

tomatoes,

sea fish.

It's important! Remember that everything must be measured. Therefore, if you are deficient in a particular vitamin, you should not consume kilograms of foods that contain it! This can lead to the other extreme — hypervitaminosis, which will also have a negative impact on the skin condition in particular and on the functioning of the body as a whole!

Consult a therapist or nutritionist who will conduct all the necessary studies, on the basis of which they will prescribe adequate treatment and adjust the diet to your needs and opportunities!
