Culture
British artist Thomas Georgeson has come up with an original way to introduce people to cultural values. He hid a £8,000 ($12,600) bank check at the Milton Keynes Gallery in hopes of getting people interested in art.
The artist announced that anyone who finds a check will be able to write their name in it and take it for themselves. However, he clarified that the check should not be searched either around or behind the gallery's exhibits, and all visitors should be careful when looking for wealth.
Georgeson said that the £8,000 check represents almost all of his savings.

“I'm prepared for the consequences if someone suddenly finds a check and cashes it,” he said.

The artist decided to hide the check to support the gallery and attract more visitors.

Even the gallery representatives themselves did not know about Georgeson's idea until he advertised in the newspaper. They searched the gallery but found the coveted check nowhere. However, the number of visitors has really increased, and the gallery has attracted additional employees to protect the exhibits.

If no one finds the check, the artist will pick it up by March 1.
